Curtain Wall Insulation

Curtain wall systems are non-structural cladding systems for the external walls of buildings. They are generally associated with large, multi-storey buildings.

Typically curtain wall is a non structural outer covering system comprise a lightweight aluminum frame onto which glazed or opaque infill panels can be fixed. These infill panels are often described as glazing whether or not they are made of glass.

Curtain wall provides flexibility to use a combination of glasses with various other cladding material to be aesthetically pleasant. Apart from aesthetics curtain walls are designed to provide thermal performance to the buildings and RockWool insulation is preferred choice because of it is light in weight and non-combustible nature.

Fire Performance of Facade

External Façade of the building especially high rise building is always subjected to the risk of fire which may lead to a loss of life and wealth. Keeping in mind the façade specialist prefer non-combustible products to be used in the façade construction. Insulation is integral part of the external façade and Rockwool insulation with it’s excellent fire resistive properties tops the list of Insulation material used on the façade of the building. Saudi Rockwool has wide range of Rockwool insulation products to be used behind the curtain wall which provide thermal, acoustic and fire safety to the building.

Mitigating the Fire risk on the façade is always on top priority of the façade designers/consultant so are preferring the non-combustible material in the façade construction. In most of the countries the regulatory bodies have restricted the use of combustible material in the building construction especially the façade where the risk of fire spread is very high that to be in High rise buildings. With the increase in height of the building the risk of fire increases drastically.

Rockwool is non-combustible insulation material suitable to be used in façade insulation application and provides excellent passive fire protections to the building structures.

SRW Rockwool

SRWF has developed a comprehensive product range of Rockwool Insulation to be used behind the curtain wall Insulation. SRW Rockwool Insulation can come in different types of facing preferably Black fiber Glass tissue (BFG) or Woven Fiber Glass Fabric (WOBFG) Black in color so as to avoid any reflection of Light Behind the glass curtain wall. as well we have range of RockWool product which can be supplied with Aluminum foil (FSK) Vapor Barrier.

SRW Rockwool products in curtain wall used in a combination of thermal insulation as well fire resistant Safing Insulation for Perimeter fire Stop & Cavity Fire Barrier Application.
