SRW HD BLANKET

HD Blanket is produced from molten basalt rocks, spun to fine fibers, slightly bonded with thermo setting binder formed into flexible rolls. It is also produced by stitching rock fibers with cotton or fiberglass yarns.

It can be non-faced or faced from one or both sides with reflective vapor retarder reinforced aluminum foil; it meets the technical requirements of ASTM C 553 (Specification for Mineral Fiber Blanket Thermal Insulation for Commercial and Industrial Applications).

Application It is designed for high thermal resistance applications for the cold and hot services such as cold stores, storage tanks, boilers, ovens, chimney walls and heated ducts etc.
Storage It must be stored in an area where it is protected from water exposure and physical damage.
Maintenance Once HD Blanket is properly installed they do not need any maintenance.
Installation
  • The HD Blankets are wrapped around the area to be insulated, the galvanized steel bands are required for support, the welded pins and lock washers are necessary to prevent sagging.
  • The steel or aluminum cladding is fitted around the insulation with overlapping of 55 mm and the joints are filled with suitable sealant and screwed to avoid water penetration.
