SRW HD ROOF SLAB

HD Roof Slab is made out of natural basalt rock spun to fine fibers and bonded with thermosetting binder. Fibers are specially oriented to achieve high compressive strength, to suit this application.

Application
  • It is used principally for heat insulation above structural roof decks, as a base for built-up roofing in building constructions.
  • It is produced according to the technical standard ASTM C726 (Standard Specification for Mineral Fiber Roof Insulation Board).
Storage It must be stored in an area where it is protected from water exposure and physical damage.
Maintenance Once HD Roof Slabs are properly installed they do not need any maintenance.
Installation
  • Lay the slabs on even clean surface, compress the edge of the slabs slightly sideward and place them to form closely butted rows or columns.
  • Cover roof slabs with polyethylene sheets or other waterproof material, to prevent water leakage to the insulation, install sloping screed for drainage purpose.
  • Tiles, gravel or other desired material can be installed as a final layer on the roof.
Advantages
  • High thermal insulation properties.
  • Excellent fire rating
  • High compressive resistance.
  • Improves the acoustic impact insulation class (IIC) of the roof.
  • Compatible with all water proofing membranes.
  • Easy to handle, cut and install.
  • Does not rot or promote fungi growth.
  • Stable physical properties.
Facing The HD Roof slab are available without facing material, or with one or two side faces made from aluminum foil, bitumen paper however, special faces could be fitted when requested.
Technical Properties
  • Thermal Conductivity 0.036 - 0.038 (W/m K) @ 35 ºC
  • Compressive resistance at 25% deformation >83 kpa
  • Tensile strength perpendicular to board surface >5 kpa
  • Breaking load >90N
  • Water absorption volume <1%
  • Noise reduction class NRC 0.8 - 1.0
  • Fire classification non-combustible
  • Euro fire classification: A1
Packing It is packed in polyethylene shrinkage bags; each bag contains a number of pieces depending on the thickness.
