SRW PIPE SECTION

Pre-formed pipe is rigid high-density pipe insulation manufactured from Rock fibers and thermosetting binder and are formed to obtain the circular shape, it is produced to meet the ASTM C-547 & C-585 requirement.

Application Pre-formed pipe insulation is used over a very wide temperature range to insulate large range of sizes, of cold and hot pipes of domestic water in the building and also for pipes in industrial and chemical processes such as in oil refineries, chemical and petrochemical industries, desalination plants, HVAC system, oil pipes and many other applications.
Storage It must be stored in an area where it is protected from water exposure and physical damage.
Maintenance Once pre-formed pipes are properly installed they do not need any maintenance.
Installation
  • Clean up and dry all the surfaces to be insulated before the installation of pipe section insulation. Under no circumstance should surface be insulated while they are wet or in frosted condition.
  • Unpainted stainless steel surfaces must be brushed only with stainless steel brushes. It is not recommended to use any detergents or solvents containing chlorides to clean stainless steel surfaces from any kind of dirt.
  • Sufficient space should be left between pipelines for the ease of installation.
  • At installation, the pipe section should be wrapped around the pipe and the ends butt jointed. The self adhesive tape is used to seal the pipe section after it is snapped on the pipe. Binding wires could be used to secure the insulation around the pipe to insure maximum safety in the event of fire.
  • The circumferential joint must also be carefully sealed with adhesive tape.
  • Pipe bends are insulated to the same specifications as the adjacent straight piping. Pipe section should be cut into meter segment fashion.
  • Stapling of the aluminum sealing strip (overlap) and thus puncturing the vapor barrier is not permissible.
  • For cold applications, the insulation thickness must be carefully calculated to avoid moisture condensation on the outer surface of the insulation.
